Through the summer, we are collecting school supplies for families with kids enrolled in the Oberlin public school system. This marks the 10th year OCS will hold its back-to-school giveaway in honor of Jaqui Willis, our former board member and educator who had a passion for making sure every child has the tools necessary for academic success. YOU CAN HELP by donating supplies!

Need food? Come see us! We're getting the OCS choice food pantry set up, restocked, and ready to rock for this afternoon. No one should have to go hungry!

𝗜𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀?
No! The OCS pantry is open to all Lorain County residents experiencing financial hardship. Our specific focus is on helping people in southern Lorain County meet basic needs.

𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵?
We do it three times a week! The pantry is open Mondays (1:30-4:30), Wednesdays (1:30-4:30), and Fridays (1:30-3:30).

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻’𝘁 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗲?
No problem! You can pick up a prepacked box anytime the OCS offices are open, even if the choice pantry isn’t stocked and staffed.

Our dedicated choice pantry is set up like a mini grocery store. You can come in and "shop" for the items your family likes best.

𝗜𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲-𝘁𝗵𝗿𝘂?
We offer curbside pick-up during pantry hours. Simply pull into a designated pick-up spot and call us at (440) 774-6579 to have a prepacked box delivered to your vehicle! This is perfect for people with mobility issues.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗱𝗼 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴?
You don't have to bring a stack of paperwork with you. A photo ID is helpful for getting you checked in quickly, but not necessary. We're more interested in hooking you up with food

No one should have to decide between affording food and affording rent, utilities, clothing, gas, medicine, or other necessities. Times are tough — if you could use some food, please come see us (we have enough for everyone!).

We were so excited to welcome hundreds of friends and neighbors to the annual OCS Juneteenth Cookout this evening! Turnout outpaced our expectations and there was still plenty of ribs, burgers, hot dogs, mac and cheese, green beans, and potato salad for everyone. This annual gathering celebrates the spirit of the holiday and highlights how we all build a more equitable community when we come together. Special thanks to the Bill Long Foundation for contributing $1,300 to offset the cost of the cookout, to Craig Kinsley of Smokehouse BBQ Company for donating his time and expertise preparing dozens of slabs of melt-off-the-bones ribs, to OCS board members Donna Russell and Charlita Anderson-White for being our featured speakers, to all the volunteers who came together to serve food, set up and tear down tables, empty trash cans, and all the many other tasks that make the Juneteenth Cookout a success! This was a banner year and we look forward to seeing everyone again in 2027!
