Here's your chance to make a big difference in the lives of neighbors in need! Community Foundation's annual CONNECT TO A CAUSE event will run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on THURSDAY, SEPT. 17. Visit www.peoplewhocare.org and donate during those hours — when you give to OCS, you help OCS get food to THOUSANDS of local families in need. Plus, part of your gift will go to our endowment, ensuring our long-term success!

Thank you to Phil, Angelica, and David of Shook Construction for building a produce cleaning table for our gardens! Shook has been working at Oberlin College the past year and asked if they could take on a project to benefit OCS. This table will allow us to more easily wash fruit and vegetables as they are harvested and taken into the food pantry for distribution!

Join POWER from 2:45-5pm on September 19, 2026 for the emPOWERed Home Tour! We will talk with real homeowners and building managers about high-efficiency heating systems-- such as geothermal heat pumps As we travel from house to house (and church!) we will learn how our neighbors have worked towards energy efficiency and independence. We will meet at Haven Brewery.

💙 LCJVS Gives Back 💙

Today, LCJVS staff members are stepping beyond our campus and into the community for our second annual Day of Service!

Throughout the day, our staff will volunteer with organizations that provide invaluable services, resources and support to our students, their families and communities across Lorain County.

Because everyone deserves to have food and we also like having fun! Come see us today (Monday, Aug. 24) between 1:30-4:30 p.m. at the Cooper Center, 500 E. Lorain St., Oberlin. You can browse our selection of meat, bread, fresh fruit and vegetables, canned and boxed food, snacks, and more and take home what your family likes best!

𝗜𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀?
No! The OCS pantry is open to all Lorain County residents experiencing financial hardship. Our specific focus is on helping people in southern Lorain County meet basic needs.

𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵?
We do it three times a week! The pantry is open Mondays (1:30-4:30), Wednesdays (1:30-4:30), and Fridays (1:30-3:30).

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻’𝘁 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗲?
No problem! You can pick up a prepacked box anytime the OCS offices are open, even if the choice pantry isn’t stocked and staffed.

𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗜 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻?
You're welcome to come get food once a week!

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲?
Our dedicated choice pantry is set up like a mini grocery store. You can come in and "shop" for the items your family likes best.

𝗜𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲-𝘁𝗵𝗿𝘂?
We offer curbside pick-up during pantry hours. Simply pull into a designated pick-up spot and call us at (440) 774-6579 to have a prepacked box delivered to your vehicle! This is perfect for people with mobility issues.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗱𝗼 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴?
You don't have to bring a stack of paperwork with you. A photo ID is helpful for getting you checked in quickly, but not necessary. We're more interested in hooking you up with food.
