Oberlin High school Sustainability Club received a cedar garden box today ready for planting Fall vegetables. This is our tenth garden box donated to Oberlin residents to grow home gardens this year! Our first four Build a Bed, Feed a Family (BBFF) program participants received their raised garden beds ready for planting. We received many more requests as the word spread. We are working through the responses and hope to deliver more beds in the next week or so. The garden is already full of life. A robin followed us as we tilled the soil. We found a small rabbit hiding in a clump of grass, and a killdeer has made a nest in our rain garden.

Fight hunger and climate change one seed at a time! Grow our garden community, educate our youth, and optimize our ability to provide healthy food to those in need.

As our VISTA member, you will develop programs to empower struggling families to improve their quality of life. Collaborating with staff, volunteers, and food insecure households, you will ensure their voices are heard in discussions of better systems for meeting current and future food security goals. As part of this role, you will also mobilize and train volunteers from our community to join in the effort of eliminating food insecurity in our neighborhood. By creating strategic media tools, you will engage more voices in shaping the direction of Our F.A.M.I.L.Y programs. Finally, you will manage data systems for the evaluation of program results and performance. Join our cause today!

Thank you for supporting Legion Garden as we begin a New Year ready to serve a more diverse Community with wheelchair accessible garden beds and a Children's Discovery Garden. Pre-school and elementary age children will experience up close how nature generates and shares its abundance.
