OKK Taiko Oak Harbor The OKK Oak Harbor branch was created in 2011, as the part of OKK Taiko established in WA in 2007.

OKK Taiko was officially established as the
Okinawa Kanjin Kai’s Taiko Group in
Washington in 2007. The OKK Oak Harbor branch was created in 2011, as the part of OKK Taiko, and we
have been actively performing as the part
of OKK Taiko, and at other times as just OKK Taiko Oak Harbor. Okinawa, the southernmost prefecture of
Japan, has a distinct culture of its own. Okinawa-style Taiko fea

tures drums carried by the dancers and is accompanied with other music and singing. Another common element of these dances are the movements and cheers reminiscent of KARATE. Our ancestors believed that the Ocean is
like a bridge to cross, meet people, and
make peace with all nations. Our OKK Taiko drum send forth a wish and feeling of
peace to each and every person with our
sincere appreciation in harmony with one
another. Practice: Every Thursday 6:00pm-9:30pm

2025 Winter Showcase Performer Announcement!

We are so excited to have OKK Taiko Oak Harbor join us for the 2025 Winter Showcase performance line up!

OKK Taiko was officially established as the Okinawa(/Japan) Kanjin Kai’s Taiko Group in Washington. The OKK Oak Harbor branch was created, as the part of OKK Taiko, and we have been actively performing as the part of OKK Taiko, and at other times as just OKK Taiko Oak Harbor. Okinawa-style Taiko features drums carried by the dancers and is accompanied with other music and singing.

We are still accepting performers, so please visit http://tinyurl.com/ohwintershow to sign up. All ages & styles are welcome - students, professionals and everything in between! We want to see all the talent available in the area.
