North Whidbey Snow Recovery

North Whidbey Snow Recovery It snows on Whidbey about once a year. When that happens, you may find yourself stuck, snowed in, or otherwise in need of assistance.

With years of experience and hearts to serve, let us come and help you for free! Currently serving North of Libbey Rd.

Happy snow day, folks!! Hope everyone is warm, driving safe, and enjoying some warm drinks.

In case you aren’t, one of our group is available to come pull you out of the ditch today!

A little reminder that we do this for fun to help out our community, so response times might be a little slow. If you need help, shoot us a message, a picture of your predicament, and your location and we’ll see what we can do.

Stay safe, North Whidbey! ❄️

SNOW!
We’re finally getting some, folks! Hope you all are staying warm and safe.

Unfortunately, most of us are out of country for the week! We still have one awesome guy, Tony, who is around and ready to help.

Send us your location, nature of the problem, and a photo of the vehicle in trouble to us via messenger and we’ll see what we can do.

Drive safe and enjoy your hot cocoa! ❄️

There’s some white stuff on the roads! ❄️
Please remember to drive slow, leave plenty of space, and dress warm!

The NWSR team is made up of volunteers, so unfortunately during the working hours we are all working at our days jobs, but do still send a message if you need help, and we will see what we can figure out.

Stay warm, North Whidbey!

Well it's that time of year! There's snow on the ground and more in the forecast.
(PLEASE READ) A few things to note:
-This year we've decided to open up our area of operation a little bit to include Coupeville and the OLF area, as shown by our handy map (attached). As usual, there is no service to gated Navy areas, and wait times may be longer in rural areas.
-We would like to remind everyone that, by submitting a request for help and by accepting our offer of assistance at the scene, you agree to not hold any NWSR volunteers responsible for damage made to your vehicle in the process of helping you out of the ditch or snowbank that you got yourself into. While we are dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers, we are NOT professionals and would invite you to make a phone call to A-1 or Christian's Towing if you would prefer bigger trucks and Liability Insurance.
-Due to several requests, we have made Donations to NWSR easier to access than ever before by incorporating Venmo and Paypal! As always our services are completely voluntary and free of charge, but any $5, $10, or $20 you feel led to donate would go a long way towards reimbursing us for gas, safety equipment, and such. To all those who have helped pay for gas in past years, a thousand gracious thank-yous and we appreciate your support!

Stay safe out there, and we hope we don't see ya! 😉

Happy snow season, everyone!
The little snowflakes are in the forecast for next week, which means now is the perfect time to start prepping for the cold, icey weather. Below are some ideas that the team here at North Whidbey Snow Rescue think are good ideas:
-Check your tires. Almost bald tires are a surefire way to slide right into a ditch or your neighbors car when the roads get slick. Consider getting a pair of car-appropriate chains to keep in your trunk just in case.
-Do some emergency prep. We aren’t saying you need to have a bug out trailer, but it’s a good idea to have some extra blankets, non perishable food, water, and a light source with extra batteries on hand just in case the weather takes out your power and sticks you at home.
-Prep your car for snow. Get new windshield wipers if you need them, make sure you have an ice scraper, pack a little “oops, I crashed at night” kit to keep in your trunk. This kit can include extra layers, emergency hand warmers, a snack, a bottle of water, a light source like a headlamp or a flashlight, and a little shovel.
-Establish what you and your car are capable of. If you aren’t good at or feel comfortable driving in snow and ice, avoid going out until the roads are safe again. This helps you and everyone else stay safe!
-Consider getting a snow shovel and some pet-friendly salt to keep at your house to keep your driveway and walkways clean.
-Check on your neighbors, friends, and family. Consider making a mental list of everyone you know who might need some extra assistance during snowy times, and make a point to check in on them.

Have a fantastic Thanksgiving, everyone! We’re so excited to be gearing up the vehicles for this snow season.
