Sowing4hope is a non-profit, urban farm where harvested fruits and vegetables provide healthy food supplies for the impoverished in the community. Working with established hunger relief organizations, our mission is to provide, free of charge, nutritious, organically grown fruits and vegetables to supplement the typical food staples given to local food pantries. Alongside the distribution of fresh

produce to the food insecure, Sowing4hope will serve to provide education, training, and volunteer opportunities designed to empower others to do likewise in their local neighborhoods and communities.

A nice little harvest before the Labor Day weekend... about 40 pounds of all kinds of hot peppers, over a dozen eggplant...

A nice little harvest before the Labor Day weekend... about 40 pounds of all kinds of hot peppers, over a dozen eggplant, a few zucchini, and well over 60 pounds of tomatoes... divided up and sent on to multiple food pantries!

Another morning, and another harvest, and another delivery to the Bay View Food Pantry... when there's a slightly smaller harvest, it's nice to be able to deliver directly to an organization that works with hungry folks in their community :) (more eggplant, zucchini, jalapeno, Hungarian & cayenne peppers... and a few mini cucumbers)

This afternoon we squeezed out a little more produce harvest - this group of veggies went to Bay View Community Center's Food Pantry... included lots of jalapeno peppers, along with a few carrots, zucchini and more eggplants - a productive harvest and delivery day, here at Sowing4hope :)

This morning we were able to harvest 4 bins full of fresh, organic collard greens... along with a bin full of Hungarian ...

This morning we were able to harvest 4 bins full of fresh, organic collard greens... along with a bin full of Hungarian peppers, and also New Mexico (Hatch) peppers... and quite a few eggplant - all delivered to Hunger Task Force Farm before 10 a.m. That was just the start of the day :)

After a few w**ding tasks, was able to harvest a couple dozen eggplants which will head to Bay View food pantry :)

Gave away the best-looking beets to food pantries, and kept some "ugly ones" to process... roasted them, cut off the bad...

Gave away the best-looking beets to food pantries, and kept some "ugly ones" to process... roasted them, cut off the bad parts, peeled and sliced up, prepared a brine to pickle them - plan to give them away to volunteers :)

After some weekend rain, was able to do a lot of w**d pulling, but also made some time Monday to harvest a bag of Hungar...

After some weekend rain, was able to do a lot of w**d pulling, but also made some time Monday to harvest a bag of Hungarian Peppers that made their way to the Bayview Community Center's Food Pantry. Also today was able to do another small harvest of more peppers, and some zucchini and eggplant - also sent on the Bayview Food Pantry :)

Thankful for the long-awaited rain yesterday - was able to harvest and deliver some yummies this morning :)
