🔥 What Investigators Found in North Carolina Fires in 2025: Did you know? In 2025, 159 North Carolinians died in fires.

The NC OSFM 2025 Fire Fatality Report found that most fatal fires either lacked a working smoke alarm or investigators could not confirm one was working.

At NC OSFM, our Fire Investigation Unit works to determine how and where fires start, and that information helps shape prevention efforts across the state. Carbon monoxide alarms work the same way: when installed and working, they save hundreds of lives.

⚠️ This CO Awareness Month, test every alarm in your home.🧯

Have you personally experienced a close encounter with CO poisoning before? 👇 Leave your story in the comments below!
Explore our website, linked in the comments below, for additional resources on our Fire Investigation unit and learn how NC OSFM works tirelessly to maintain a safe and fire-informed community for everyone. 🏠

🚒🚓🚜 BIG TRUCKS, BIG SMILES, AND BIG FUN AT HOBGOOD CHARTER SCHOOL! 🚑🚛

Hobgood Charter School had an amazing time hosting our Touch a Truck event!

Our students enjoyed an exciting, hands-on experience as they explored a variety of vehicles, got an up-close look at impressive equipment, and learned about the important roles these vehicles and their operators play in our communities.

From emergency vehicles to heavy machinery, there was plenty of excitement, curiosity, and smiling faces throughout the event!

A huge THANK YOU to all of the local fire departments, law enforcement agencies, businesses, organizations, and volunteers who took time out of their busy schedules to participate. Your generosity and willingness to share your knowledge and equipment helped make this event a memorable experience for our students!

We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of our community and everyone who helped make this event such a success!

💙💛 GO RAIDERS!

Confidence grows when you prove to yourself that your word can be trusted.

Every time you follow through, keep a commitment, or do what you said you would do, you strengthen that trust.

Do not underestimate the power of keeping small promises to yourself. They become the foundation for bigger ones.

Leadership is not about receiving the credit. It is about accepting responsibility for what needs to be done.

Great leaders focus on serving, solving problems, keeping commitments, and helping others succeed, even when nobody is applauding their efforts.

When responsibility matters more than recognition, leadership becomes about impact instead of attention.
