Fridays at the Farm is Back for one night only!

Join us Friday, August 28 from 4-7pm at MSU Tollgate Farm for a fun-filled evening celebrating the end of summer! Stroll the farm, visit our farm stands, pick your own flowers, and enjoy a special treat because the MSU Dairy Store Ice Cream Trailer is returning!

While you're here, shop unique products from Tollgate 4-H youth, including goat milk soap and fruit leather, browse local honey and handmade candles from our volunteer beekeeper, and learn more about the Friends of the Animal Barn.

Make it an even sweeter evening by adding the Tollgate U-Pick Flower Experience! Take a wagon ride to the flower fields, learn about the blooms grown at Tollgate, and create a beautiful bouquet to take home. Registration is required for U-Pick.

Admission to Fridays at the Farm is FREE
Ice cream, farm stand products, and U-pick flowers are available for purchase

Tollgate Farm 4-H — Beyond the Barn

When you hear Tollgate Farm 4-H, you might think of goats, sheep, chickens, and showmanship. And yes, animal care is an important part of what we do!
But there’s so much more happening beyond the barn.

We serve our community.
One of our favorite projects is our Seed Sharing Project, where members collect donated seed packets and help get them into the hands of school and community gardens. It’s a simple idea that can grow into something BIG!

We learn about business.
Our Farm Stands give youth a chance to learn what it takes to run a small business — creating and preparing products, setting up a stand, talking with customers, handling sales, and working as a team.

We encourage youth to lead.
Members are encouraged to bring forward their own ideas and propose projects. If they have an interest, a great idea, or something they’d like to learn, we want to help them turn that idea into an opportunity.

Animals may be where it starts… but they aren't where it ends!
Tollgate Farm 4-H is about learning, leadership, service, creativity, teamwork, and giving youth the opportunity to discover what they can do.

Pressed flower embellished journals will be available at the Tollgate Farm 4-H Club Farm Stand on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 9 AM–2 PM at the Farmington Farmers & Artisans Market .

These beautiful journals make the perfect gift for any gardener! While you're there, be sure to pick up some of our handmade goat milk soap, granola, and apple fruit leather.

Support our club youth at tonight’s Large Animal Livestock Auction at the Oakland County Fair !

This year, club members Mary Worth and Dorothy Brigham have been raising Market Lambs as part of year-long projects. Their lambs will be offered for sale tonight at the Oakland County Fair.

The auction begins at 6:00 PM, and bidders may register up to two hours before the auction.

Market animal projects teach youth much more than animal care. Through practices and teamwork, members build knowledge, confidence, responsibility, and problem-solving skills while working toward their goals.

We hope you’ll join us in supporting Mary and Dorothy tonight!

The temperature is in the 90's but the Oakland County Fair is a week away so the club showmen are in the barn clipping goats and shearing sheep!

Update on Photography!

A few of our members attended the cell phone photography workshop offered over the past 2 Saturdays. There results were amazing! Here are a few of the photos taken during the course. Shout out to course instructor Linda Piasecki for donating her time and talents to lead the class.
