❤️ Thank you for joining us!

We want to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by the Huron County Humane Society for our Open House last night!

It was wonderful to welcome so many members of our community, introduce you to our staff and some of the animals in our care, and share more about the work we do every day.

We are incredibly grateful to have such a caring and supportive community. Whether you stopped by to say hello, meet the animals, learn more about our services, sign up to volunteer, make a donation, or simply show your support, we appreciate you taking the time to visit!

And, of course, Layla, Kylie, and all of their furry friends loved having visitors!

Thank you for being part of the HCHS community and for supporting the animals who depend on us!

🎬 We need your help making this year’s Vine & Dine a blockbuster! 🐾

The Huron County Humane Society is preparing for our 19th Annual Vine & Dine Fundraiser: Black & White Movie Night, and we are currently seeking donations for our auction!

We would love donations from local businesses, organizations, and individuals. Gift baskets, gift cards, merchandise, experiences, services, tickets, or other unique items all make wonderful additions to our auction.

Every item donated helps make Vine & Dine a success and, most importantly, helps us continue providing care, shelter, and support to animals in need in our community. ❤️

If you or your business would like to donate an auction item, please contact the Huron County Humane Society or stop by during our regular business hours. We kindly ask that all auction items be received by October 25th.

We wanted to thank those that took the time to stop in for our open house yesterday. We had a nice turnout with some amazing guests.

We had some great Q and A, which is what we were hoping for. Many don't realize what goes on here on the daily, how many animals we care for or the horrific reasons why so many of them are here.

Education is so important and we always want to be available to answer any questions you may have. We appreciate our supporters and enjoyed meeting some new, friendly faces.

We sincerely appreciate you all!

Miss Luna is a 3 year old sweetheart. We aren't sure of her breed but she has an amazing personality and disposition.

She seems good with other dogs, especially the boys. We had her in the cat room and she was not at all reactive to them.

She is very affectionate, wants all the love and has some pretty awesome zoomies 🙃

Please share this post if you aren't in the market to add a new canine friend to your family. We can reach more people in hopes that her perfect match is out there looking for her!

A BIG Thank You to Miller's Market!

We want to extend a special thank you to Miller's Market in Norwalk for generously donating sandwiches for our Open House!

We are so grateful for local businesses like Miller's Market that continue to support the Huron County Humane Society and the work we do in our community.

Support like this helps make our events possible and reminds us how fortunate we are to be part of such a caring and generous community. ❤️

Thank you, Miller's Market, for your kindness and generosity! We truly appreciate your support!

🧙‍♀️ Meet Penny

Penny may be dressed like a witch, but the only spell she’ll cast is making you fall completely in love with her! 🧙‍♀️💜✨

Penny is estimated to be around 8½ years old, and this sweet girl has been through quite a journey since coming to us.

Penny arrived emaciated and dealing with fleas, ticks, heartworm, and Lyme disease. Once she gained weight and completed treatment, she also underwent surgery to be spayed and have several mammary masses removed. Through all of it, Penny has shown us just how strong and resilient she is.

Now we want everyone to know the Penny we have come to love! She is an absolute love bug who adores affection and car rides. She is amazing with the children in her foster home and does well with dogs around her size. Larger dogs seem to make her a little nervous, and we have not yet seen how she does with cats.

After everything Penny has overcome, she is ready for the best part of her story—a family of her own. ❤️

No hocus pocus required—just a loving family ready to give this magical girl the happily-ever-after she deserves. 🔮🐾

Penny is currently in foster care, so if you would like to meet her, please call the shelter at 419-663-7158 to schedule an appointment.

REMINDER: WE ARE CLOSED TODAY UNTIL 3PM

🐾 FREE ITEMS AVAILABLE! 🐾

We’ve been busy reorganizing and clearing things out at the Huron County Humane Society! We have some items we’re no longer using or have in surplus, and with so much going on, we could really use the extra space.

📦 Where can you find them?
We’ll be placing these items next to our Blessing Box. We may continue adding more items as we go, so keep an eye out!

❤️ A little kindness goes a long way!
These items are free, but if you’d like to stop in and make a donation, we would certainly appreciate it. We’d also be happy to exchange items for cleaning supplies or pet food to help support our shelter and the animals in our care.

🐶 Please be considerate of others! We ask that everyone take only what they can use and leave some for others in our community. It’s not fair for one person to take everything when these items could help several families.

Thank you for always being such an amazing and supportive community! We appreciate each and every one of you. 💚🐾

WE DID IT! THANK YOU!!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we have officially reached our $800 fundraising goal for Hope's surgery!

We are so grateful to everyone who donated, shared Hope's story, and helped us reach our goal. Your kindness and generosity mean more than words can express!

We are incredibly fortunate to be part of such a compassionate and caring community. We truly could not do what we do without your continued support. Because of you, we can continue providing the love, care, and medical attention that animals like Hope need and deserve.

Hope's surgery is scheduled for Friday, October 16th, and we will continue sharing updates so everyone can follow along and hear how her surgery goes.

From all of us at the Huron County Humane Society, THANK YOU for making a difference in Hope's life!

🐾❤️ Help Hope Heal – We're Making Progress! ❤️🐾

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we've raised $280 toward Hope's $800 surgery goal! That's 35% of the way there!

Hope is scheduled to undergo surgery on Friday, October 16th, to remove a growthfrom her eyelid, a surgery she very much needs. With her surgery just around the corner, we're hoping to get a little closer to our goal!

Every donation, no matter the amount, helps us provide Hope with the veterinary care she needs. And if you're unable to donate, sharing this post is another wonderful way to help! 🐶💕

💗 Help Hope Heal!
Donate here:
https://www.huroncountyhumanesociety.com/pay-link/bd664a8a-a7fb-4234-8e00-74175b8da1b4

Any donations received beyond our $800 goal will go directly to our Simon Fund, which helps cover extraordinary veterinary care, emergency surgeries, and treatments for animals in need.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared Hope's story, and supported her along the way. We appreciate you! 🐾❤️
