Wilkes County Friends of the Library (WCFOL) is a non-profit 501c-3 volunteer-led organization created for the purpose of supporting the Wilkes County Public Library and its programs, enabling it to remain current, accessible, and appealing. All the proceeds from sales at our used book store are donated to the library. The used book store holds sales monthly; all our books are donated to the Frien
ds. We have thousands and thousands of used books, plus CDs, DVDs, etc. Our books are sorted and organized into categories - fiction, mystery, history, biography, music, arts, cookbooks, sports, children, young adults, and more. Almost all our items are priced at $2.00 or less. The book room can also be reserved for private meetings or events.
2. The Friends provide volunteers and support for library events such as the Summer Reading and lunch programs.
3. We provide books for the Books for Babies program - every child born at our local hospital goes home with his or her first book.
4. We host other events throughout the year, such as the Antiques Appraisal, the Chocolate Extravaganza, and the annual dinner and speaker. Pick up a membership form at one of our book sales or other events, or at the Wilkes County Library.
