The NTPBA is hosting its 33rd Annual Picnic on Friday August 28th, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM! The event will once again be at Gratwick Fire Hall, located at 110 Ward Road. We are looking for corporate sponsors that wish to show their support for our police union.

Sponsorships are as follows:

Officer Marc Hurst was a hero before this week began. After bravely engaging Monhaz Siddiqui, sustaining gunfire from Siddiqui, and assisting in the apprehension of Siddiqui now EVERYONE knows what a hero Officer Marc Hurst is. Thank you for your selfless service to the City of Buffalo and it’s visitors.

Minhaz Siddiqui has been charged with first-degree attempted murder with more charges anticipated in the future.

The Erie County Sheriff's Office mourns the death of John "Dooley" Evans, who passed away earlier today after a sudden illness. Evans started working in the Administrative Division of the Sheriff's Office in June after serving as the president of the Buffalo Police Benevolent Association. His public service also includes a tenure with the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.

We are all shocked and saddened by this loss. The Erie County Sheriff's Office has been lucky to utilize Dooley's expertise for the past 11 months. More importantly, however, we have been blessed to have a man like him in our offices each and every day. He cared deeply for his coworkers. His love of law enforcement officers and appreciation for what they do for our community knew no bounds.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family during this difficult time.

Yesterday’s 6th Annual NTPBA 3 on 3 basketball tournament was a huge success! Congrats to all of the tournament winners!
