Our next meeting is Tuesday October 14 @ 6pm in the Rec Office (500 Wheatfield Street). Any adult residents of North Tonawanda wishing to attend are welcome.

CALLING ALL YOUTH (Grades 7-12).

We'll be starting a Junior Youth Board branch aiming to get our teens involved in representing their peers to enhance and develop youth programs in our community.

These members will help us make many decisions about the programs we run throughout the year.

Our meetings will be held once a month during the school year. Specific dates and times will be established with the members. Meetings will last about one hour.

The goals of the Junior Youth Board :

đź‘ŤProvide an opportunity for the youth to develop leadership skills
đź‘ŤEncourage community engagement and contribution
đź‘ŤCreate recreational programs for the teens in our community
đź‘ŤGive a voice to the youth to advise on youth-related issues and programs

The responsibilities of the Junior Youth Board members include :

✔️Attend youth board meetings.
✔️Play an active role in the planning and implementation of Youth Board-run events (i.e. Post-prom, Theatre Club, Life Skills programming)
✔️Make recommendations on what programs the Rec department will run/fund each year.
✔️Act as a liaison between the Parks & Recreation department and their home school.
✔️Take initiative in researching and planning new programs and services

Individuals will be contacted with further information about an introductory meeting.

This is a great resume builder and opportunity for a student to serve as a vital link between your school, the recreation department and youth board.
