Experience the vibrant sounds and stories of Mexico with Sones de México Ensemble, Chicago’s premier folk music organization—two-time GRAMMY® nominated and recipient of four consecutive Chicago Music Awards. This nationally acclaimed ensemble has performed in more than 30 states and on stages including Millennium Park, Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, and the Getty Museum. This year, the ensemble’s founders, Juan Díes and Victor Pichardo, have also been honored with the NEA National Heritage Fellowship, the nation’s highest honor for traditional artists.
For the 2026 Hispanic Heritage Festival, Sones de México brings a lively, family-friendly 60-minute concert featuring traditional Mexican music, interactive songs, and corridos from the Semiquincentennial project, supported by the National Endowment for the Arts. The program will also feature a brand-new corrido written by Manchester Jr.-Sr. High School students during a workshop with the ensemble the day before the concert!

Viva los sonidos y las historias vibrantes de México con Sones de México Ensemble, la principal organización de música folclórica de Chicago, nominada dos veces al premio GRAMMY® y ganadora de cuatro premios Chicago Music Awards consecutivos. Este conjunto, aclamado a nivel nacional, se ha presentado en más de 30 estados y en escenarios como Millennium Park, Carnegie Hall, el Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center y el Getty Museum. Este año, los fundadores del grupo, Juan Díes y Victor Pichardo, también han sido galardonados con la beca NEA National Heritage Fellowship, el honor más alto del país para artistas de tradiciones populares.
Para el Festival de la Herencia Hispana de 2026, Sones de México presenta un concierto dinámico y familiar de 60 minutos que incluye música tradicional mexicana, canciones interactivas y corridos del proyecto *Semiquincentennial*, apoyado por el National Endowment for the Arts. ¡El programa también incluirá un corrido totalmente nuevo, compuesto por estudiantes de la escuela Manchester Jr.-Sr. High School durante un taller con el grupo realizado el día anterior al concierto!
