Welcome home, Daniel's Place!
On May 6th, we held our official groundbreaking ceremony for our future home!
This exciting milestone marks the beginning of a new chapter for our organization and the individuals and families we serve. Since 2018, Daniel's Place has been able to provide care and support for individuals with disabilities thanks to the space graciously provided by Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Their generosity allowed us to begin our journey and establish our programs before investing in a facility of our own.
Over the years, our organization has continued to grow alongside the needs of our community. As participation in our programs has increased, we have outgrown the space that has served us so well. This growth has led us to take the next step in our mission by building a permanent home for Daniel's Place.
Our new facility will allow us to expand from 429 square feet to 8,549 square feet—nearly 20 times our current space—creating opportunities to serve more individuals, provide overnight respite care, operate 24 hours a day, and offer a fully accessible environment designed to meet the evolving needs of those we support.
With this new home, Daniel's Place will be able to:
🏠 Serve at least twice as many guests at a time.
🌙 Provide accommodations for 6 overnight guests with stays of up to two weeks
⏰ Operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (currently 16 hr. 7 days a week)
♿ Offer a fully wheelchair-accessible environment
❤️ Support individuals with higher medical and personal care needs
👨👩👧👦 Provide families with greater peace of mind through expanded respite and overnight services
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us for this special day and to the many supporters, donors, community partners, and families who have helped make this dream a reality.
The groundbreaking ceremony was more than the start of construction—it was the foundation for a future where more individuals can access safe, inclusive, and compassionate support.
Thank you for believing in our mission. We can't wait to share updates as construction progresses!
