Welcome home, Daniel's Place!

On May 6th, we held our official groundbreaking ceremony for our future home!

This exciting milestone marks the beginning of a new chapter for our organization and the individuals and families we serve. Since 2018, Daniel's Place has been able to provide care and support for individuals with disabilities thanks to the space graciously provided by Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Their generosity allowed us to begin our journey and establish our programs before investing in a facility of our own.

Over the years, our organization has continued to grow alongside the needs of our community. As participation in our programs has increased, we have outgrown the space that has served us so well. This growth has led us to take the next step in our mission by building a permanent home for Daniel's Place.

Our new facility will allow us to expand from 429 square feet to 8,549 square feet—nearly 20 times our current space—creating opportunities to serve more individuals, provide overnight respite care, operate 24 hours a day, and offer a fully accessible environment designed to meet the evolving needs of those we support.

With this new home, Daniel's Place will be able to:
🏠 Serve at least twice as many guests at a time.
🌙 Provide accommodations for 6 overnight guests with stays of up to two weeks
⏰ Operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (currently 16 hr. 7 days a week)
♿ Offer a fully wheelchair-accessible environment
❤️ Support individuals with higher medical and personal care needs
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Provide families with greater peace of mind through expanded respite and overnight services

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us for this special day and to the many supporters, donors, community partners, and families who have helped make this dream a reality.

The groundbreaking ceremony was more than the start of construction—it was the foundation for a future where more individuals can access safe, inclusive, and compassionate support.

Thank you for believing in our mission. We can't wait to share updates as construction progresses!

☀️ Daniel’s Place is Hiring Summer DSPs! ☀️

Looking for meaningful summer work that actually changes lives?

At Daniel’s Place, our Direct Support Professionals do more than provide care — they create joy, protect dignity, and help individuals with disabilities feel safe, valued, and included every single day.

Some things you will do as a DSP:
💙 Support guests of all ages with compassion and confidence
💙 Lead activities like crafts, games, sensory play, and outdoor fun
💙 Provide personal care support when needed
💙 Help create a calm, welcoming environment

We’re looking for people who are:
✔ Calm under pressure
✔ Dependable and accountable
✔ Emotionally intelligent
✔ Passionate about dignity-centered care

Experience in healthcare or disability services is preferred, but the biggest thing we’re looking for is a caring heart and a willingness to learn.

This is more than a summer job. It’s an opportunity to make someone feel seen, respected, and safe.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Daniel’s Place 💙

Today, we celebrate the incredible mothers, grandmothers, foster moms, caregivers, and mother figures who give so much of themselves every single day. Your patience, strength, compassion, and unconditional love make a difference in the lives of those around you in ways words cannot fully express.

At Daniel’s Place, we are especially grateful for the mothers and caregivers in the special needs community who advocate fiercely, love endlessly, and continue showing up even on the hardest days. You are seen, appreciated, and deeply valued.

This week, our amazing DSPs spent time helping our guests create special artwork and handmade gifts for their mothers.

We hope today brings you moments of peace, joy, and the reminder that the care you give matters more than you know.

Happy Mother’s Day! 🌷

There’s something bittersweet about watching a piece of history come down.

The old bowling alley has long been part of our community—a place once filled with laughter, memories, and connection. Though it has sat unused for many years, it still holds the spirit of those meaningful moments. As it makes way for something new, we pause to honor what it was while looking ahead with gratitude and hope.

This space will soon become the future home of Daniel’s Place. It’s more than a new building—it’s an opportunity to grow, serve more individuals and families, and be more present in the community we care so deeply about.

We’re honored to carry that legacy of connection forward and create something meaningful in its place.

Here’s to honoring the past and building a future full of care, inclusion, and possibility. 💚

We are so grateful to The Manchester on Bond for catering our Daniel’s Place’s Board of Directors Meeting this evening.

Everything was absolutely incredible—from the fresh, vibrant spread that perfectly welcomed Spring. Your attention to detail truly did not go unnoticed, and it meant so much to us and everyone in attendance.

Thank you for not only providing delicious food, but for offering such amazing, healthy options that reflect care and intention in every bite. And beyond the food, your kindness and hospitality made the experience even more meaningful.

Also a huge thank you to the Community Foundation of Wabash County for accommodating us within your beautiful new location!
