Wabash County Cancer Society Our goal is making sure everyone with cancer in the county knows they can get assistance, one less worry for them when you fight this disease.

THE WABASH COUNTY CANCER SOCIETY STORY

THE WABASH COUNTY CANCER SOCIETY (WCCS) WAS FORMED IN 1959 WHEN A GROUP OF DOCTORS OF WABASH COUNTY SAW A NEED TO HELP THE CANCER PATIENTS OF WABASH COUNTY. OUR GOAL IS TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE WITH CANCER IN WABASH COUNTY KNOWS THAT THEY CAN RECEIVE ASSISTANCE, WHICH HELPS RELIEVE SOME OF THE BURDEN WHILE FIGHTING THIS DISEASE. AND ALSO TO INCREASE OUR MEMBERS

HIP WITHIN THE SOCIETY WITH MEMBERS FROM ALL OVER THE COUNTY. AT WABASH COUNTY CANCER SOCIETY OF INDIANA WE’RE RAISING FUNDS AND PROMOTING INITIATIVES TO SERVE THE PEOPLE WHO NEED THEM MOST. WE BELIEVE IN TAKING ACTION WITH URGENCY IN ORDER TO RAISE PUBLIC AWARENESS ABOUT SOME OF THE MOST PRESSING ISSUES FACING TODAY’S SOCIETY. ALTHOUGH WE ARE A CANCER SOCIETY, WE ARE NOT A PART OF THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY. ALL FUNDS AND DONATIONS COLLECTED ARE USED EXCLUSIVELY IN WABASH COUNTY. PLEASE JOIN US BY SUPPORTING OUR EFFORTS TO MAKE A MEASURABLE DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF OTHERS. THE WCCS IS FUNDED THROUGH BOTH PUBLIC AND PRIVATE DONATIONS, MEMORIALS, AND FUNDRAISERS. SUCH FUNDRAISERS ARE: THE TREE OF CARING IN FEBRUARY, THE CHAIR AUCTION DURING THE MANCHESTER HARVEST FESTIVAL, CHILI FOR CHARITY(BLESSED RECIPIENT SEVERAL TIMES), WABASH COUNTY CARES FUNDRAISERS, AND MOTORCYCLE RIDES SPONSORED BY BRANDT'S BIKE SHOP OF WABASH. MEMBERSHIP IS OPEN TO THE RESIDENTS OF WABASH COUNTY WITH THEIR INTERESTS IN THE SUPPORT AND FUNCTION OF THE SOCIETY. THE MEMBERSHIP WILL CONTINUE WORKING ON BEHALF OF THOSE IN NEED THROUGH REGULAR ATTENDANCE AT THEIR MEETINGS. THE WCCS MEETS ON THE FIRST THURSDAY OF EVERY MONTH AT TOWN LIFE CENTER, UNLESS A HOLIDAY FALLS ON THAT DAY. THE WCCS IS A UNITED FUND AGENCY. WE PROVIDE SUPPORT TO THE UNITED FUND BY PARTICIPATING IN THEIR ANNUAL GOLF OUTING, ATTEND THEIR AGENCY MEETINGS, AND BY GIVING THE UNITED FUND BOTH MONTHLY AND ANNUAL REPORTS OF WCCS BUSINESS.

We again wanted to give a big "Thank You" to George Thorogood & The Destroyers and Honeywell Center for donating a set of tickets to our society to give away to one of our followers.

Many have inquired of why George Thorogood and his team would reach out to our small society to afford us this opportunity. We were told he likes to reach out to local cancer groups where he performs because frankly; for George, cancer hit close to home.

Thanks to awesome donation by George Thorogood & The Destroyers and Honeywell Center; we are able to give away a set of tickets(2) to their show on: Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at 7PM.
