“Here for the Pinch” started our morning at Animal Wellness and Healing Center for the RHVD2 vaccine. Office Manager Lavender let the group, and Lyra, Sabrina, Samurai, Zahara, Misty, & Suki got the pinch and a hug. Not sure what Suki was doing… lol

For years, carnival games across the country have given away live animals as prizes. Tiny chicks, ducklings, rabbits, fish, and other animals were often handed to people on impulse with little thought about the care they would need afterward.

Now, Pennsylvania is taking a stand.

Governor Josh Shapiro has signed a bill ending the use of live animals as carnival prizes, helping protect countless animals from neglect, abandonment, injury, and unnecessary suffering.

Animals are not toys. They are not souvenirs. They are living beings who deserve proper care, safety, and respect.

Many animal welfare advocates have pushed for this change for years, arguing that live animal giveaways often lead to poor outcomes for the animals involved. This new law recognizes that winning a game should never come at the expense of an animal's well-being.

It may seem like a small change, but for the animals who will no longer be treated as prizes, it is a life-changing one.

Welp, not what we expected… Snow was supposed to be spayed today and have all her “lumps” under her front left leg removed. After shaving the area, it was discovered that the “mass” went around her leg almost to the lumps and more areas were found swollen. The decision was made to take tissue for culture & biopsy, and when we find out what is going on then we will make a plan. Since she has stitches where she can reach we made her a “flower bun” 😂 Thank you Dr. Jen, Sarah, & Animal Wellness and Healing Center

First time Nixxy was groomed with the grooming vacuum. She didn’t have a problem with it at all. Very quiet, she was an angel. We can’t stress enough how important grooming is for your bunnies health and that positive reinforcement makes grooming a positive experience.
