There was an unwritten rule.
You got one of these... and you were outside until it was gone.
They cost next to nothing, melted faster than you could eat them, and somehow half of it ended up running down your arm before you reached the bottom.
Nobody cared.
You'd bite the corner off with your teeth, argue over which color was the best, and immediately want another one.
Funny how something so simple became one of the strongest memories of summer.
Not because they were the greatest frozen treat ever made.
Because they tasted like bikes in the driveway, sprinklers in the yard, the sound of kids playing down the street, and a summer that felt like it would never end.
