What a fantastic evening at the recent WCA Spring Fling at Three Fox Pond!

More than 120 industry professionals came together to connect, strengthen relationships, and celebrate the outstanding work happening across our region's construction community. Guests enjoyed great networking, delicious wood-fired pizza from dop Pizza and the presentation of the 2025 Washington Contractor Awards, recognizing some of the year's most exceptional construction projects.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the event such a success! And a special thank you to WCA Board Members Walter Hsu, Patrick Cotter, Adam Grunley, Brunson Cooper, Chelsea Beacom, and Michael Barnhart, for helping to present last year's awards.

Congratulations to James G. Davis Construction (DAVIS) on being named a finalist for the 2025 Washington Contractor Awards in the Public/Government/Institutional category ($51M–$100M) for the American University Meltzer Center for Athletic Performance project!

This impressive project included both a partially occupied renovation and new construction of a 90,000 SF, three-story athletic facility connected to Bender Arena, featuring a new gymnasium, wellness center, strength training facility, locker rooms, and office space.

Throughout construction, the DAVIS team carefully coordinated work to ensure Division I NCAA sporting events at Bender Arena continued uninterrupted, while also installing geothermal wells at Reeves Field without disrupting ongoing soccer games and practices.

Congratulations to HENSEL PHELPS on being named a finalist for the 2025 Washington Contractor Awards in the Renovation/Restoration category ($100M+) for the Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) Headquarters Modernization project in Vienna, VA!

This impressive renovation modernized NFCU’s occupied six-level headquarters with upgraded offices, collaboration spaces, executive suites, and major improvements to building systems—all while minimizing disruption to daily operations and keeping the facility fully operational.
