This month, the Norman Arts Council will be hosting a very special exhibition celebrating the Arts Education Scholarship Recipients! The NAC Arts Education Scholarships are intended to provide Norman children with the opportunity to attend arts programming that is offered outside of schools. We have put together this exhibit as a way to celebrate the wonderful work our Student Recipients are able to create thanks to YOUR support. Student's work, as well as photos and videos of their performances, will be on display from August 14 through August 28 The opening reception will take place on August 14 during 2nd Friday Art Walk from 6-9 pm.

Applications for the current Arts Education Scholarship cycle are due August 12. To learn more about the program and to apply, visit normanarts.org/arts-education. If you'd like to support this amazing program, visit normanarts.org/support or scan the QR code!

The Norman Arts Council has opened exhibition proposals for MAINSITE Contemporary Art's Main Gallery! Proposals should include an exhibition narrative, artist statement, CV, examples of past work and any other relevant information.

Applications for the Fall round of the NAC's Arts Education Scholarship are now open! Any Norman student (K-12) is eligible to apply for awards of up to $500. Priority will be given to low-income applicants and those facing hardship. Students can apply to award to any outside arts education experience of their choosing. Applications are due August 12!

Meet one of current exhibiting artists here at MAINSITE, Shakurah Maynard-Duncan! The last day to see Shakurah’s exhibition “Joy” is this Friday during the closing reception coinciding with 2nd Friday Art Walk. We will also be celebrating the closing receptions of “Oasis:II” by Denae Elise, and “Theriomorphism” by Marcus Eakers, from 6-9 pm at MAINSITE Contemporary Art. See you then or stop by during our regular business hours from 10 am to 4 pm!
