We are excited to present to you the 1st Annual C.A.R.E. Coalition Health and Wellness Summit. In an effort to combat pressing issues concerning youth and adult mental health and substance misuse, the Community Alliance of Resources for Everyone (C.A.R.E.) Coalition is set to host its first Health and Wellness Summit on Friday, April 26th. The event will take place at the McClain County Farm & Home Building, located at 1721 Hardcastle Blvd., Purcell, OK, from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. This groundbreaking summit aims to provide education, resources, and support to address the critical challenges faced by young individuals in McClain County and surrounding communities. The summit is open to the public at no cost and offers the opportunity to earn free Continuing Education Units (CEU) and Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET) credits, making it a must-attend event for professionals and community members alike. For those eager to join in person, seating is limited to 60 individuals. However, the summit will also be accessible virtually, ensuring that no one misses out on the wealth of information and support being offered. In- person attendees will receive a complimentary light breakfast and lunch. The Cleveland County Health Improvement Plan Substance Abuse Coalition (CCHIP) is hosting a DEA Medication and Sharps Takeback Event happening on Saturday, April 27th, 2024, from 10 am -2pm at no cost. We have three awesome locations that include the Cleveland County Health Department -Norman, the Cleveland County Health Department- Moore, and the Absentee Shawnee Little Axe Health Center. If you or a family member have old or unused medication and sharps that you want to dispose of, please come out to the Cleveland County Health Department locations and the Absentee Shawnee Little Axe Health Center to dispose of them! We are also giving out free lock boxes, home medication disposal kits, and naloxone to anyone who needs them. Join US!
