Thank you to Alan Gerard for giving out books yesterday at Northeast OKC Laundry Love Central Oklahoma. Outside in 100+ heat. Thank you to all of the volunteers who were out there helping. Alan also went by 44th Street Laundromat in SW OKC and re-stocked the bookshelf. 📚❤️

We got a request at the last Mutual Aid Fair to add books to the Little Free Library at New Haven in the old Re-Store building in Norman. We put 200 books in last month. Today we stopped by to check on it and there was not a single book in the little library. We put in 150 books today. There is not a single item of food in the food pantry if someone feels led to add something. 📚❤️

📚 The 4th Annual Charlie's Book Drive is officially in the books!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our associates, we donated 113 children's books to Little Read Wagon this year. Over the past four years, Charlie's Book Drive has provided more than 600 books to help children with limited access to reading resources.

We're proud of our team for continuing this meaningful tradition and demonstrating the power of giving back to our community. Thank you to every associate who donated and helped make this year's drive another success. 💛

Crossroads Youth & Family Services, Inc. Baby Steps Early Head Start in Norman requested more board books this morning. We partner with Baby Steps to promote caregiver reading to our youngest community members. We dropped off 75 board books inside and noticed that the free library out front was almost empty so we added another 75 picture books, chapter books and books for adults to it. 📚❤️

This week is Bluey Week at SunHive Collective Summer Camp and we had a doggone good time reading books, working puppets, learning facts about dogs, listening to songs about dogs and coloring. We read Bluey books, Bark, George (with puppet), Harry the Dirty Dog, Sparky and Spike (about Charles Shultz and the origin of Snoopy in his comic strip) and poems from Mary Oliver’s collection titled Dog Songs. Books and puppets were gifted to SunHive for continued enjoyment and use. We interviewed several campers so they could relay facts they learned about dogs. Thank you to Oklahoma Literacy Coalition and Tinker Federal Credit Union for awarding the Adult Literacy Grant that funds our participation at SunHive Summer Camp for young adults with disabilities. We have done 4 years of Summer Camp at SunHive in Norman. There will be one more session this summer in July. Stay tuned. Interviews in comments. 📚❤️
