Faith in Action - Bloomington/Normal Faith in Action is an interfaith non-profit ministry. Volunteers provide transportation rides at no charge to area seniors.

Volunteers also provide Friendly Visits & Calls and Shopping. These services allow seniors to remain in their own home. Senior must be 60 or older and live independently. There are no income guidelines to meet. Service areas are Bloomington, Normal, Downs, Heyworth, Hudson, Towanda, Chenoa, Ellsworth, Leroy and Lexington. A Faith in Action volunteer will conduct an in-home assessment prior to receiving services. Faith in Action volunteers cannot transport wheelchairs, administer medications, perform personal care services, or provide services daily.

We are hiring a new Executive Director! Our Director, Darla, will be retiring, and we are searching for our next director.
Faith in Action is excited to announce an opening for an Executive Director. Faith in Action's mission is to help older adults maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life by connecting them with volunteer transportation to medical appointments and grocery shopping.
This leadership position is 34 hours per week with a starting salary of $55,000, which is negotiable. The Executive Director plays a vital role in leading the organization. Please note that this is an on-site position. Regular in-person presence is required to effectively lead the office team and support volunteers. The ideal candidate adjusts quickly to different work situations, remains composed under pressure and in stressful situations, and embraces change, seeing it as an opportunity for growth.

We are excited to welcome our new Program Coordinator, Annie!

Annie Ripley Householder joined the staff at Faith In Action at the end of September 2026 after retiring from Edward Jones Investments. As our Program Coordinator, Annie helps ensure our Care Receivers, with the support of our dedicated volunteers, are able to meet their grocery shopping needs. In addition to coordinating the grocery shopping program, she also assists with supporting other Faith In Action programs and services, helping us continue our mission of serving older adults in our community. In her spare time, Annie is a sports enthusiast, most notably a long-suffering Cubs fan. She is very involved with her church and enjoys crocheting when she’s not off visiting family and friends in Florida and other such exotic places.

We had a great time this week at the Bloomington Senior Showcase! We love being able to connect with our community.
