Yesterday was the 232nd anniversary of George Washington laying the cornerstone of the United States Capitol building! This momentous occasion took place on September 18, 1793, and it was a singularly important Masonic event in the history of our nation. Several prayers and speeches were offered, and the act was done using the traditional Masonic ceremony, wherein corn, wine, and oil—symbols of divine blessing from the book of Psalms—are poured upon the stone to dedicate the building and invoke divine favor upon its purposes.

On this day in history, September 10th, 1929, Arnold Palmer was born in Latrobe, PA. He was one of the PGAs most famous golfers, and arguably the sport's first superstar. Bro. Palmer was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason in 1959, and was an active member of Loyalhanna Lodge No. 275, in Latrobe PA. He recieved his 33 degree in the Northern Masoinc Jurisdiction in 1997, and the Gourgas Medal in 2010. Bro. Arnold Palmer passed to the Grand Lodge above on September 25, 2016.
