Campers & staff at Lake in the Woods YMCA Camps, Blue Mountain Day Camp, and Fairview Lake YMCA Camps joined 1200 other gatherings happening in all 50 states for Campfire Across America! Our campfires brought joy, fun, laughter, a tiny bit of controlled chaos, and plenty of marshmallows to our campers and staff yesterday and last night.

🕛 It’s time to take action!

As we wrap up Five Days of Action®, we invite you to sign the pledge to protect children from abuse and commit to ongoing digital safety awareness.

Every adult has a role to play in protecting children, online and off.

Today during Five Days of Action®, we’re highlighting the
importance of monitoring online activity and having a plan.
Did you know 1 in 5 children who use a digital device will be
sexually solicited online? Technology changes fast, and kids are
targeted on the apps, games, and sites they love. Having a Cyber
P.L.A.N., monitoring device use, and teaching online safety rules
can help keep your child safe. Visit https://hubs.ly/Q049v2f00 and check
out resources from our partners in child abuse prevention,
, to learn how to set boundaries, teach good cyber
habits, and protect your family online.

Today during Five Days of Action®, we’re encouraging parents and caregivers to stay on top of trends and research online safety. From apps to gaming, staying on top of digital trends can be overwhelming. National Center for Missing & Exploited Children offers free resources to help trusted adults understand online risks—including sextortion and the
growing use of generative AI—and talk with kids about staying safe.

Check out the tip sheets at https://hubs.ly/Q04ccfvg0 and be sure to explore the other resources provided by the Y’s partners in child abuse prevention, NCMEC.

Together, we can build safer communities!

Today’s Five Days of Action® focus is on recognizing red flags online and in-person. Certain behaviors can signal risk for child sexual abuse and understanding them helps you act early to keep kids safe.

We’re sharing an infographic that shows what to watch for—whether the behavior may be low, moderate, or high risk—and these behaviors, or grooming, can show up both in person and online situations. Visit https://hubs.ly/Q04bZTLn0 for the infographic and be
sure to check out the resources provided by the Y’s partners in
child abuse prevention, National Children's Alliance.
