Looking for a fun summer evening filled with connection, community, and a great cause?

Join BW NICE Sussex County on Friday, June 26th from 5:30–7:00 PM at the beautiful Skylands Museum of Art in Lafayette for BW NICE on ICE — an evening of networking, inspiration, and giving back in support of DASI.

Enjoy lite bites from The Hungry Hearth, music by Kali/FX, and the opportunity to connect with amazing women from across our community. Guests are invited to bring a bottle of wine to donate/share, participate in an optional museum tour for a small donation, and even book a professional headshot session with Proof You Are Loved Photography ($50, advance registration required).

Each year, the Department of Law and Public Safety recognizes individuals, teams, programs, and organizations that demonstrate outstanding service in supporting victims and victims services in New Jersey. This year’s ceremony will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Richard J. Hughes Justice Complex in Trenton as we recognize crime survivors, their families, and those who assist them. The event will include networking, information tables, informative presentations and panel discussions, and the annual awards ceremony.
Since 1981, National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) has challenged the Nation to confront and remove barriers to achieve justice for all victims of crime. During NCVRW, we celebrate the accomplishments of the victims’ rights movement and reflect on how far we have come. In 2026, we will observe NCVRW from April 19–25, with the theme – CommUNITY
This year’s theme, CommUNITY, is a powerful call-to-action to recognize that supporting survivors and victims of crime is a shared responsibility. CommUNITY reflects the strength that emerges when individuals, organizations, and neighborhoods come together to ensure access to services, uphold victims’ rights, and foster healing. It is within community that survivors find connection, compassion, and the collective support needed to move forward.

Dear Self,
It's about time you allow yourself to be happy. All those times in the past when you were scared, frightened to speak up. Afraid to be you. Well- you paid for it- you couldn't be yourself without paying the price. Then when that hell was over you thought you had found true love- you were so wrong. Nobody could ever love you unconditionally. Not with all your issues- and you have quite many. If only those you loved hadn't failed you- oh but you were the one that failed them, or at least so you were told. Is it really my fault that life fell apart when it did? I don't think I was the reason- though my happiness was a falsehood back then. Now after many years and lots of therapy you're finally enjoying life and you aren't a failure. Your past has made you who you are today and you are able to be happy with what you have- simple as that!
