The GFWC Newington/Wethersfield Woman’s Club Advocates for Children CSP joined in the Halloween fun at the Newington Chamber of Commerce Trick or Treat event Wednesday evening!

Club members handed out books and candy, spreading a little extra Halloween cheer while encouraging a love of reading among the children in our community. ❤️

A big thank-you to our club members who volunteered their time to make the evening special: Donna Recknagel, Mary Hanifan, Pam Garde, MG Cosna-Jordan, and Chylene Pender!

✨ **Creativity, Community & a Little Light!** ✨

The GFWC Newington Woman’s Club Arts & Culture CSP hosted a fun, hands-on nightlight craft project at the Newington Senior and Disabled Center. 💡🎨

Best of all, the activity was offered **free of charge** to everyone who participated. Attendees enjoyed a wonderful time getting creative and connecting with others, and everyone went home with a beautiful, handcrafted nightlight they made themselves! 💖

Thank you to our Arts & Culture CSP for bringing creativity, fun, and community connection to Newington! 🌟

👉The GFWC Newington/Wethersfield Woman’s Club invites you to join us on Friday, October 30, from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Newington Senior & Disabled Center for an informative discussion on domestic violence and the needs of our community.

We are pleased to welcome Megan Scanlon, President & CEO of the CT Coalition Against Domestic Violence , and Mary Jane Foster, CEO of Interval House CT . They will share insights into the challenges facing individuals and families in Newington and across Connecticut, the services available, and how their organizations support those in need.

💜 One of our Club’s signature programs is raising awareness of and helping prevent domestic violence, sexual assault, and campus assault. We work with established organizations to support their efforts and help make our communities safer.

Please join us to learn more, increase awareness, and discover how we can make a difference together.

🦃 Help Us Make Thanksgiving Special! ❤️
The GFWC Newington/Wethersfield Woman’s Club is holding a Thanksgiving Food Drive to help supplement holiday dinners for families served by the Newington Food Bank.

📍 Stop & Shop, 206 Kitts Lane, Newington
📅 Saturday, October 17
⏰ 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Our club volunteers will be there collecting these much-needed items:
🥔 Boxed potatoes
🍗 Turkey or chicken gravy
🍞 Stuffing
🍒 Cranberry sauce

Every donation makes a difference and helps bring a little extra warmth to someone’s Thanksgiving table. Please stop by, say hello, and donate if you can!
