We had a fantastic weekend in Burlington at the Early American Industries Association's Annual Conference! We even got a little plaque for our display of weaving and fiber processing tools, in this year's theme of life on a 19th century farmstead.

The most popular item was the teasel gig (bottom right in the photo), which would have been mounted on a cylinder and used to raise the nap on the surface of cloth like flannel.

If you, like us, are interested in historic trades, handcrafts, preservation, and continuation, we highly recommend joining the EAIA and attending any of their events and workshops. Maybe we'll see you next year at Mount Vernon...
