We remain steadfast in our goal of universal access and opportunity for all in the Hudson Valley region. is a locally controlled, nonprofit agency operated by people with disabilities for people with disabilities, offering a wide range of programs and services dedicated to ensuring universal access and opportunity in every aspect of community life. Since 1987, we’ve served as a voice for people with disabilities living in Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Putnam, Sullivan, Rockland, and Westchester Counties. Our efforts are directed to people of all ages having any disability, as well as to families, businesses, agencies, and municipalities. We are committed to the universal elimination of physical and attitudinal barriers, as well as assisting individuals with disabilities to make the transition from system dependency to independence successfully. Since our inception in 1987, Independent Living, Inc. has remained steadfast in our mission to enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities. With a comprehensive range of over 35 programs and services, Independent Living, Inc. provides personalized support that empowers individuals to live independently, exercise control over their care decisions, and maintain their autonomy. We strive to be the bridge that enables individuals, regardless of age or disability, to embrace their full potential and thrive in a fully integrated and barrier-free society.

💜 Day 31 of 31: Inclusion Doesn't End in October! 💛

And just like that, our 31 Days of NDEAM comes to an end! 🎉

Throughout October, we've celebrated the talents, contributions, and achievements of workers with disabilities, highlighted the importance of inclusive workplaces, and shared the voices and experiences of the people who make our community special.

But disability inclusion doesn't stop when October ends. It means continuing to break down barriers, create opportunities, provide accommodations, and recognize the value every individual brings to the workforce.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey with ILI! Let's carry this awareness forward and continue building a workforce where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. 💜

We had such a great time participating in this year's Trunk or Treat! From the amazing costumes and creative decorations to all the families who came out to celebrate, it was a night full of Halloween fun, community, and smiles.
