We invite community leaders, educators, nonprofit organizations, local businesses, students, ecopreneurs, and community members to join us for a morning of learning, collaboration, and action focused on strengthening sustainable food systems in New Jersey.

Reposted from a Facebook post created by New Jersey League of Conservation Voters.

Today we toured Newark Science and Sustainability, Inc.'s community garden as part of our Enviro Fix in ‘26 program.

With the 2025 gubernatorial election already taking shape, environmental, health, faith, and community advocates came together to demand bold environmental leadership from the state’s next governor.

The Newark event focused on the urgent need for climate action, environmental justice, and community resilience as New Jersey faces worsening floods, extreme heat, and public health threats due to climate change.

We also learned about all of the hard work Newark SAS has put into the garden that provides fresh produce to the local community. The garden is truly a labor of love from the number of herbs and vegetable that it grows to the new chicken coop that is powered by solar energy! 🐔 ☀️

Thank you Newark Science and Sustainability, Inc., Rutgers Institute for Corporate Social Innovation, New Jersey Black Issues Convention, Operation Grow, New Jersey Progressive Equitable Energy Coalition - NJ PEEC for an important conversation on environmental justice, local solutions, and the impact of environmental education!
