What has Shady Strong been up to?
When we are a little quiet on social media, it definitely doesn’t mean things are slow behind the scenes!
Over the past few weeks, we’ve been busy doing what we love most — supporting families and caregivers in ways that make their days just a little bit easier.
Multiple caregiver boxes have been packed with love and sent to caregivers both locally and across the country.
A communication device was delivered TODAY to a family who needed it urgently.
Equipment donations have been picked up, with another pickup already scheduled for this week — keeping much-needed equipment moving from families who no longer need it to families who do.
And over the next week, another $6,000 will be going directly toward helping ALS families with in-home care, ramps, home modifications, equipment needs, and other expenses that help make their homes safer and their lives a little easier.
Donated equipment continues to come in, helping us keep the Shady Strong Med Shed stocked and ready when a family reaches out.
Some of the most important work we do never makes it to social media. It happens through phone calls, messages, front-porch pickups, equipment deliveries, packages in the mail, and one family saying, “We have something someone else might be able to use.”
It’s families helping families. It’s getting equipment where it needs to go. It’s reminding caregivers that someone sees them, too. It’s helping make a ramp or home modification possible when ALS suddenly changes what “accessible” means.
