We officially have 125 tickets spoken for for Tuesday’s Lou Gehrig’s Day game with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies! We truly had no idea what kind of response this would get, and seeing this many people come together for ALS awareness and to support the Legg family means so much.

Thank you to everyone who has shared, purchased tickets, donated, or reached out. Community support like this is what keeps families going during unimaginable times.

Clayton Ave Elementary School raises $1633 for ALS Awareness!

This morning, Shady Strong had the honor of attending the Clayton Avenue Elementary School morning program after being invited by their incredible students and staff. Throughout the month of May for ALS Awareness Month, the school held a coin drive to support ALS awareness and local families impacted by ALS.

And today, they were so proud to present Shady Strong with $1,633 in donations — collected one penny, nickel, dime, and dollar at a time. 🪙💵

What made this even more special is that Clayton Ave Elementary has a strong focus on the Golden Rule and spreading kindness throughout their school community.

This wasn’t just about raising money.
It was about students learning empathy.
It was about children understanding how small acts of kindness can make a huge difference in someone else’s life.
It was about a school community coming together to support families they may never even meet.

To the students:
Thank you for every coin you dropped into those jars.
Thank you for asking questions, learning about ALS, and helping spread awareness.
You are making a difference bigger than you realize.

To the teachers, staff, and families:
Thank you for creating a school culture rooted in kindness, service, and caring for others. The impact you are making reaches far beyond the classroom walls.

We had the incredible opportunity to attend an early screening of this film in Washington, DC surrounded by ALS advocates, families, and individuals living this reality every single day.

This is not an easy watch. It’s raw, real, heartbreaking, and at times heavy. But it also tells the story of resilience, advocacy, progress, and the strength of the ALS community in a way that stays with you long after the credits roll.

There were tears in the room. There was laughter. There was also amazement at how far advocacy and research have come, and how far we still need to go.

Films like this matter because they make people stop, feel, learn, and pay attention. ALS deserves attention. Families deserve support. And this community deserves hope.

If you have the chance to watch it, do. Just know you will likely walk away changed by it.

WOW. The response to Lou Gehrig Day has been incredible already! ⚾💙

We are so excited to partner with the Rumble Ponies on Tuesday, June 2 to raise awareness for ALS and honor Lou Gehrig’s legacy.

We are especially honored that Zac Legg from Montrose, PA will be throwing out the first pitch for Shady Strong. Zac has been an ALS caregiver to his dad Todd for the past 6 years, and we are proud to celebrate their family and our entire ALS community.

As the 18th Annual Vietnam Veterans Highway of Valor Tribute Ride passes our event on Route 38 this July, Shady Strong ALS Awareness will create a “Highway of Honor” lined with American flags in tribute to veterans, active-duty service members, and those impacted by ALS through military service.

For a $50 donation, you can sponsor a flag and tribute sign in honor of:
