Today, we got to chat about The Beloved Community and our volunteer-led community projects with our neighbors over at Binghamton University. It’s days like today when we reminisce on our projects from years past: community meals, supply drives, and even international projects in our early days, we are reminded of all the hard work and generosity our wonderful little community has fostered over the years.

Whether you have volunteered your hard work, finances, or time reading and sharing our stories, we are so grateful for all of the love, support, and elbow grease from all our neighbors like you!

And an extra special thank you to Karen, Jory, and Jorden for taking the time to represent us and spread our mission: Supporting community leaders to implement projects that improve their neighborhood.

Thank you to the Center for Community Engagement at Binghamton University for inviting us to your Community Opportunities Fair. We had such a great day ☀️🧡🌎

The Beloved Community will honor her history of writing letters to the lonely and marginalized by hosting a card making station at the Gala. Let’s write letters, draw pictures, and spread good cheer to those incarceratedt, in nursing homes, in orphanages, and any neighbors in need 💌

All are welcome at her celebration of life!

We invite you to join us in celebrating the wonderful life of our Founder, our Dear Friend, our Mama: Dr. Mar Peter-Raoul.

A celebration of life - Mar's MARvelous Memorial Gala - will be held on Sunday May 10th at 12pm at 66 Chapin Street, Binghamton NY (the site of our Free Little Library).

Come by to honor the woman who dedicated her life to serving, educating, and inspiring others, as we remember her life by sharing our own stories and memories. There’ll be videos, pictures, items she collected on her travels, the books that shaped her, excerpts of her very own writings, and a great sense of community!
