MEMORIAL DAY 🇺🇸

Often we hear the phase Happy Memorial Day.
Memorial Day is a solemn and most serious day set aside for the remembrance of all the men and women of the United States Armed Forces, that made the ultimate sacrifice, that gave their last full measure of devotion in service of this nation at a time of war.

So during this Memorial Day weekend lets us come with great reverence and heartfelt gratitude for their shed blood, their lives lost. And lets us thank God our Creator that these fine men and women were willing to give their all. All gave some and some gave all.

☀️🏃🇺🇸 SUMMERFEST 5K FUN RUN/WALK 🇺🇸
Kick off Newark Valley Summerfest with fun, laughter, community spirit, and a little patriotic creativity!

Our Summerfest 5K is designed to be a FUN RUN/WALK for all ages and abilities. Whether you run competitively, stroll with friends, push a stroller, or simply come for the fun, everyone is welcome!

🎩 This year we especially encourage participants to dress up in:
📜 Historical figures
🇺🇸 Patriotic Americana themes
📚 Literary characters from classic American stories
🎆 Red, white & blue costumes
🦅 Founding Fathers, Betsy Ross, Uncle Sam, Lady Liberty & more!

🎽 Commemorative Summerfest 5K shirts will also be available for purchase while supplies last.

And after the race, stay for an entire day of Summerfest activities including:

🚒 Touch-a-Truck Event
🎈 The Summerfest Parade
🚗 Car Show
🛍 Vendors & community groups on the Village Green
🍔 Food, music, shopping, and family fun throughout the day!

Bring your family, invite your friends, and spend the day celebrating community and summer in Newark Valley!

Newark Valley Community Connection is looking for stage curtains, theater drapes, or auditorium curtains to help enhance our space for concerts, performances, movie nights, children’s events, and community programs.

We know that schools, churches, theaters, and community organizations sometimes replace stage curtains during renovations or upgrades, and we would love to give usable curtains a second life serving the community.

We are especially interested in:
• Stage curtains
• Theater drapes
• Backdrop curtains
• Valances
• Auditorium curtains
• Other performance space materials

If your organization — or one you know of — may be replacing curtains or has extras in storage, please reach out to us.

Even leads or connections are greatly appreciated!
