We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our treasurer and beloved SPARE member, Rich Ives.
Since SPARE’s inception Rich has been one of our biggest supporters. His work as long time volunteer included being properties manager, tech directing, running ad sales, helping photograph our shows, assisting fundraisers, and in so many other ways. Whatever we needed, he was always there. He provided that same dedication and support to the local arts community as well.
Rich didn’t just support us as a company, but he supported our members individually as well in all of our personal endeavors. He wanted the best for every person he met.
Rich will be terribly missed, but his talent, compassion, wit, and knowledge made a lasting impact on all who knew him and will continue to inspire us in our work.
Calling hours will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, January 20, at the Estey, Munroe and Fahey Funeral Home at 15 Park St in Owego, NY. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Candor, NY, at the convenience of the family.
