The Women Leaders in Eye Health movement continues to grow in Ghana.

More than 80 women eye health professionals from across Ghana recently came together in Accra for the second Women Leaders in Eye Health Ghana Workshop.

Focused on collaborative leadership and mental wellness, the workshop highlighted the power of connection, shared learning, and peer support for women at every stage of their careers.

On October 11, the international community observed the International Day of the Girl Child. As we marked this important day, we reaffirm our commitment to championing girls’ rights, addressing the unique challenges they face, and celebrating their potential as changemakers in their communities.

Around the world, 1 billion people live with vision problems that could be prevented or treated, yet many still lack access to the care they need.

At Women Leaders in Eye Health, we recognize that achieving equitable access to eye care requires strong leadership at every level of the health system. Women leaders play a critical role in shaping policies, strengthening services, supporting communities, and driving innovations that help bring quality eye care closer to those who need it most.
