Met Council on Housing

Met Council on Housing Housing for people, not for profit! www.metcouncilonhousing.org/

Met Council on Housing operates a number of tenant-assistance programs, run by our members, including a tenants' rights telephone hotline and a walk-in clinic, which serve thousands per year and are free and open to any New York City tenant. We publish Tenant/Inquilino, the city's only monthly newspaper on the tenant movement, and produce Housing Notebook, a weekly radio show on housing issues.

🗣️We appreciate HPD Commissioner Dina Levy for delivering Saturday’s keynote address and for taking the time to engage directly with our members and answer their individual questions.

We recognize that significant issues remain to be addressed, but we also appreciate the systems and approaches being established to help meet those challenges. We’re grateful for the opportunity to hear directly from Commissioner Levy and for her thoughtful engagement with our members.

Thank you for joining us and for our continued dialogue with HPD

🗣️This past Saturday, more than 150 members came together to connect, strategize, and prepare for the fights ahead.✊

We also heard from elected leaders about the upcoming legislative fight in Albany, including the push to pass the REST Act and expand rent stabilization so more tenants across New York can have the protections they need. 🌇

A huge thank you to Senator Julia Salazar , Linda B. Rosenthal , Samantha Kattan , and Illapa 🌹易雅博 , Emily Gallagher, for joining us, speaking with our members, and standing with tenants ❤️
