Met Council on Housing operates a number of tenant-assistance programs, run by our members, including a tenants' rights telephone hotline and a walk-in clinic, which serve thousands per year and are free and open to any New York City tenant. We publish Tenant/Inquilino, the city's only monthly newspaper on the tenant movement, and produce Housing Notebook, a weekly radio show on housing issues.

LANDLORDS SUE -- TENANTS FIGHT BACK!

Landlords have sued to overturn the Rent Guidelines Board recently enacted rent freeze for over one million NYC tenants. Tenants, and tenant groups, including Met Council on Housing, wont take this sitting down and have moved to intervene in the lawsuit. We'll chat with Tim Collins, former Executive Director of the Rent Guidelines Board, and one of the lawyers working on the case.
