Italian American Civil Rights League Canarsie, Inc. (IACRL) began as a community based nonprofit in 1975 focused on advocacy, fighting discrimination and providing leadership development for youth throughout Brownsville, Spring Creek, Starrett City, and the surrounding communities. Over the years, it has grown into one of the most recognized agencies working with underserved, low-income children, adults, and families throughout Brownsville, East NY, Canarsie, and greater Central Brooklyn. IACRL programs provide real and positive outlets for adolescents and young adults that will increase their chance of success by participating in activities designed to improve their self-esteem and leadership skills. These programs are intended to increase employability and encourage the pursuit of higher education. IACRL has a proven record of successfully providing quality programming and services.
