The Nutrition & Economic Wellness Fair is happening on Saturday, May 30 at Brooklyn Sports Club, and everyone is invited.

Stop by to get help with SNAP questions, learn about job readiness resources, receive resume support, take part in self-care and fun activities, and pick up food while supplies last.

Wrapped in Love: Moments for Mom was a beautiful afternoon of rest, creativity, and connection. 💐✨

Together with and we created space for moms and caregivers to slow down, pour into themselves, and enjoy a day designed just for them.

From journaling and affirmations to wine glass painting, tea ceremonies, conversation, and community, the afternoon was filled with celebration, joy, and meaningful connection. Thank you to everyone who joined us, supported the day, and helped make moms feel seen, heard, and appreciated. 💕

The RISE team has outdone themselves for our 3rd annual Career Fair!

Whether you’re looking for a job, exploring a new career path, or hoping to connect with employers and workforce resources, this is a great chance to meet organizations that are hiring and learn about opportunities available in our community.

Many of our employment partners are offering on-the-spot screenings. So be sure to arrive prepared, dressed to impress, and with copies of your resume!

Earth Day at The Opp Hub Farm is about more than what we grow, it’s about how we grow it. 🌎🌱

From fresh produce for the community, to hands-on volunteer days, to STEM education for young people, the farm is a space where care for the earth and care for each other go hand in hand. By vermicomposting, cover cropping, and using no-till methods, we’re working to rebuild and sustain our soil and care for the land in ways that last. We’re building a more sustainable way to increase access to fresh, healthy food right here in our community. 🥬🍅🫜

Big milestone for our members!🎓🚌

Last week we visited Cheyney University for our first-ever HBCU college trip—and it was an inspiring experience from start to finish. Our young people had the chance to explore campus, learn about Cheyney’s powerful legacy, the Divine Nine, and imagine what their own college journeys could look like.

This visit helped our youth see themselves in spaces built on excellence, culture, and history. Can’t wait for our next HBCU trip! ✨

Last week, we teamed up with and an amazing crew of volunteers to care for one of our community’s most precious green spaces—Fresh Creek Nature Preserve right here in Starrett City. 🌳🧤

Together, we removed over 200 lbs. of trash and cleared invasive species to help restore the natural habitat for the many unique plants and animals that call it home.
