Queens Centers for Progress Queens Centers for Progress provides services to children & adults with developmental disabilities. More than 1500 people now receive ongoing services from QCP.

Queens Centers for Progress is dedicated to the goal of providing children and adults with developmental disabilities the opportunities to make choices which will maximize their skill development, independence, and integration into community life. At the core of all the agency’s services is the deeply held belief in the development of the individual. QCP believes that all people can learn and that all people – in spite of any developmental disability – can make meaningful choices about their lives. A developmental disability is defined as a physical or mental condition that develops before age 21, which is likely to continue throughout the individual’s life, and results in the impairment of one or more major areas of life functioning. Cerebral palsy is one type of developmental disability; others include autism, epilepsy, mental retardation, and other neurological impairments. While developmental disabilities cannot be cured, QCP is committed to providing assistance and support to compensate for the limitations the condition imposes, and thereby allowing those affected to live the fullest lives possible. We provide services for people of all ages, from toddlers to the elderly; and for all aspects of life, including providing a place to live and work, health care, hygiene and life skills training, education, therapy, vocational training and recreation.

🎉 We’re thrilled to celebrate Wendy Phaff Gennaro, who has been named a 2026 Queens Power List Honoree!

For more than 20 years, the Queens Power List has recognized influential leaders whose work, commitment and contributions help move Queens forward. This year, we’re especially proud to see Wendy recognized among this outstanding group of business leaders, civic champions and community changemakers.

Even more meaningful for QCP, 100% of raffle proceeds from this year’s Queens Power List will benefit Queens Centers for Progress, supporting our work to empower children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families.

The 2026 Queens Power List celebration will take place on Tuesday, October 20, at Russo’s on the Bay, bringing together leaders from across Queens to celebrate their accomplishments and the impact they are making throughout the borough.

Thanks to the generosity of in Queens, program participants at QCP's Adult Center and students in our Children's Center are heading into their classrooms with everything they need to shine and be creative.

Dime Bank's staff, customers, and neighbors came together for a community school supply drive, collecting items like notebooks, backpacks, crayons, and markers for the children and families we serve.

For individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, walking into a room prepared can make all the difference, and Dime Bank's kindness helped make that happen. 💙

Thank you, Dime Bank, for showing what it means to be a true neighbor and for your continued support of our Queens community!
