"One of the arguments surrounding this situation is that youth sports should be about development, not competition. I agree that development should always be the priority, especially with children this young. However, development doesn’t look the same for every child.

Some children are just learning the rules. Others have already developed skills that allow them to perform at a higher level. Both are learning. Both deserve opportunities to grow."

"If there’s one thing I’ve learned as a parent, it’s that nothing invites unsolicited advice faster than how you choose to discipline your kids. You could post a photo of your child eating a cracker and someone will chime in, “Well, I only give my kids kale chips when they’re acting out.”"
