These persistent chemicals are finding their way into our drinking water.

A surprising study suggests that chemicals introduced to protect the ozone layer may have unintentionally created a growing global pollution problem. Researchers found that refrigerants and certain anesthetic gases have generated more than 335,000 tonnes of trifluoroacetic acid (TFA), a highly persi...

Measuring the flows of small bodies of water and streams is critical to understand stormwater runoff.

Measuring the flows of small bodies of water and streams is critical to understand stormwater runoff.

The flooding of the summer of 2024 exposed major weaknesses among Connecticut's towns and cities that do not measure the average daily flows of smaller bodies of water.

But a small team in the state budget office, in partnership with the U.S. Geological Survey, is now engaged in a year-long mapping plan aimed at providing resiliency data in this period of climate change.

The concept is termed an "eco-system". Multiple ecological processes integrate to form an environment that supports life. When environmental components are harmed, the "system", essential for life's sustenance, collapses.

Another beautiful piece of farmland on the verge of destruction for solar panels in Woodbury CT. Only until its all gone will our leaders realize the true value of what they allowed to be looted and pillaged.

Shifting Baseline syndrome is the name given to the process whereby ongoing damage to the Natural World becomes normalized over time, as each new generation measures loss against an already degraded benchmark.

We can run the reel backwards, and create a future in which the expectation of children - to - come is that River's Flow Free and Clear.

Rivers are easily wounded. But given a chance, they heal themselves with remarkable speed. Their life pours back. -Robert Macfarlane

📢With the Brass Mill almost remediated per Jack Healy only 13 AOC remain ( areas of concern) over the Aquifer in the aquifer protection area.

✔️The New Proposed DPW facility is not grandfathered in so it would need to adhere to all Aquifer Protection laws.

❓️Why would we run the risk of building this massive facility over a potable water source that supplies 13k plus people, not to mention the environment in which it sustains. Are we willing
to potentially pollute the Aquifer, and the west aspetuck watershed, again?

We all came together to protect this environmental sensitive area a few months ago. ✨️Let's normalize seeing the rivers and Aquifer as alive with us and not an asset to be ruled upon by government needs!🙏
