ICPN consists of multiple Support Services Teams (SST’s), who provide community-based support and consultation services to individuals with disabilities.

ICPN team members have been providing onsite learning opportunities since inception of the program. In 2015, a comprehensive learning program was initiated, named the Professional Development Initiate to benefit members of the community and provider agencies. Since this time, both members of ICPN as well as outside speakers have offered Professional Development Workshops throughout the state of Illinois. All topics are based on observed trends in the field in effort to provide support to staff and community members working with adults and children with challenging behaviors and/or medical difficulties.

Did you know? September 9 is International FASD Awareness Day. The date — 9/9 — represents the 9 months of pregnancy, a reminder that there's no known safe amount of alcohol during pregnancy. All month, we're raising awareness of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) and their lifelong impact.

Save the date: on September 15, ICPN is hosting "Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders: Understanding the Person Behind the Diagnosis" — a free virtual training exploring the causes, diagnostic criteria, and lifelong impact of FASD, plus practical, FASD-informed strategies for service providers.

This workshop offers 2.0 hours of Continuing Education for QIDP, LNHA, OT, OTA, PT, PTA, LCPC, LPC, LSW, LCSW, Clinical Psychologist, APN, RN, and LPN.

That's now THREE continuing education opportunities every month from ICPN, all focused on strengthening services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) across Illinois.

Did you know?

In FY2025, 42.8% of new ICPN referrals were individuals ages 25–44 — highlighting the growing need for crisis prevention and support services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Illinois.

Through collaboration, intervention, and education, ICPN continues working to support individuals, families, and communities statewide. 💛
