These chapters span every domestic department in the United States and extend to at least three foreign countries.Core Impact AreasFundraising: They raise millions of dollars for local schools, veterans' homes, and children's hospitals.Scholarships: They are major donors to the American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund for children of fallen military personnel.Escorts: Members routinely es**rt military units returning home from combat tours.Honor Guards: They perform funeral es**rts and protect the sanctity of military services.Veteran Support: Members regularly visit local VA hospitals and support wounded servicemembers.

The American Legion Family extends our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of
American Legion Riders Department of Kansas member Michael Haas, who passed away Tuesday from injuries he sustained from a motorcycle accident on the ride to Keokuk.

🚁🇺🇸 BRINGING HER HOME: MEET Rendels Inc

We've introduced you to the team helping lift our Huey and the team transporting her across several states.

But getting her to New Lenox is only part of the journey.

Someone has to be here waiting when she arrives.

That's where Rendels comes in. 🏗️🇺🇸

When our Huey finally pulls into the Thomas E. Hartung American Legion Post 1977, Rendels will be helping us with the equipment and expertise needed to safely unload her from the transport and place her at the Post.

And they didn't hesitate to step up.

Rendels has been working with us as we plan for the Huey's arrival, looking at the site, talking through logistics, and helping us determine exactly what will be needed when that truck finally rolls into New Lenox.

For us, that moment is going to mean a lot.

This project started as an idea. Then came the phone calls, meetings, paperwork, approvals, planning, fundraising, and an incredible number of people asking one simple question:

"How can we help?"

Soon, all of that work will lead to a moment we've been waiting for:

🚛 The truck pulls in.
🏗️ The equipment gets into position.
🚁 And our Huey is finally lifted off that trailer and placed on the ground at home in New Lenox.

Rendels will be there helping us make it happen.

We are incredibly grateful to the entire Rendels team for donating their time, equipment, expertise, and support to the Flight Home Memorial.

Bee Line helps us lift her.

Americars brings her across the miles.

Rendels helps us put her down at home.

Three incredible partners. One very special mission.

And once she's here, the next chapter of the Flight Home Memorial begins.

Here is a link to our POW/MIA Memorial. We are looking for American Legion Members and Riders who would be interested in es**rting the HEUY from Arrington Va to our Legion. We have a preliminary route and date. We are waiting for the route to be official. The date of pick up is September 10, 2026. Our Legion Riders are going to es**rt the HEUY the final leg of the journey September 12 2026 from some point in Indiana TBD. If anyone is interested in participating, feel free to contact us.
