ENP

Who we are:
ENP (Empowering Neighborhood Partnerships) is about neighbors doing what Neighbors do – helping each other and strengthening our community. Listening to people who live, work, worship, or play in the neighborhood, ENP has developed two programs addressing pressing neighborhood needs:

1) The Spot, an after-school program where students across South Nashville are nurtured through positive relationships as they work to become their best selves. It’s a place to hang out, learn respect for each other, and grow stronger academically, emotionally, and socially.
2) The FreeStore is open every Saturday for all in the neighborhood to freely donate and "shop" for needed household and personal items.
3) Edgehill Neighborhood Partnership (and its committed volunteers) are giving their energy to advocate for just housing for all residents, regardless of race, class, and culture, in the Promise Zone and Envision Edgehill. In addition to these programs, ENP builds connections and relational networks between those who live and work in Edgehill. Prompted by widespread concern about the loss of affordable housing, encroaching development, and the uncertain future of Edgehill’s public housing, ENP has joined other neighborhood organizations and residents to form the Edgehill Coalition. The coalition is committed to preserving this historic neighborhood's racial and socioeconomic diversity and bringing resident voices to the forefront in decisions that could seriously impact the area. Three principles guide ENP:
1) ENP is a neighbor and therefore seeks to address the concerns identified by people with a stake in the Edgehill Neighborhood. All those with a stake – those living in publicly provided housing, those living in other neighborhood areas, and the business community.
2) ENP will always seek to partner where someone else is already doing work. Current partners include One Gen Away, Nashville Food Project, Community Resource Center, and Patchwork.
3) ENP is volunteer-driven. Neighbors with time and/or special skills helping neighbors. This is how we build relationships, understand needs and grow a better community for Edgehill and the larger Nashville neighborhood.
