Pastors need pastors.

We all need people who understand the joys, challenges, and weight of ministry. People who can encourage us, pray for us, challenge us, and remind us we’re not alone.

So look around.

Who is a younger pastor you could invest in?
Who is a more experienced pastor you could learn from?

Spiritual friendships don’t happen by accident. Reach out. Make the call. Grab coffee. Ask the question.

Ministry was never meant to be done alone. The Thriving Initiative connects pastors with seasoned mentors and a cohort of peers who understand the joys and challenges of ministry.

Opening Retreat: August 28–30, 2026
Location:East Tennessee District Campground, Louisville, TN
Monthly Zoom cohort meetings
Cost: $200
Cohorts available in English and Spanish
Application Deadline: July 31

It was good to see some of our Fall mentors at PALCON this week! If you are here we would love for you to join us for our workshop, "From Surviving to Thriving", at 8:30 am tomorrow. We will be in Boone 106.

Two of our team members from the Center for Pastoral Health had the opportunity to attend a retreat at Serra Retreat Center in Malibu, California last week to learn more about Emotional Intelligence and how it relates to the work we do with pastors. We are so thankful for the Lilly Endowment Fund and their generosity to fund these experiences. Pastor Carmen Russell (co-coordinator of The Thriving Initiative) and Dr. Jay Earles (Director for CPH) were especially thankful for the time to dream about where God is leading us in this new season for TTI. We asked some youth pastors at TNT to tell us on a scale of 1-5 if they were surviving or thriving. We love the energy youth pastors bring. If you don't have the same level 5 energy as Pastor Connor, we've got a program for you!
