SUNDAY PRAYER AND FASTING-For Life, Stacy Dunn, President, TN Right to Life

James Talarico is running for the U.S. Senate in Texas on the Democrat ticket. Talarico graduated from the University of Texas and from Harvard University, was a middle school English teacher and has served in the Texas State House of Representatives since 2018. He also has a Master of Divinity degree from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, which makes his recent comments about the Bible and abortion even more confusing.

In a recent interview, when asked about his views on abortion, Talarico had this to say,
“I don't believe it's a place for politicians. I don't believe it's a place for the state. And that's a belief I hold not despite my faith, but because of my faith. Jesus never talks about abortion. The Bible is silent on abortion. And when that happens with a social issue as important as abortion, we Christians have to take Scripture as a whole. And we've got to try to make some kind of ethical determination.”

During his seminary training, did Mr. Talarico never read in Exodus where God says, “Thou shall not kill” or Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you”? Did none of his professors ever point out the beauty of Psalm 139 or the warning in Proverbs 6 that God hates the hands that shed innocent blood?

What in the world did they teach him that made him believe that his faith does not require him to protect the most vulnerable among us? (Proverbs 24:11)

Mr. Talarico has been an abortion advocate during his entire 4 terms as a State Representative, and now he wants to take his views to D.C. On his campaign website, Mr. Talarico states that as a U.S. Senator he wants to codify Roe v. Wade into federal law.

That’s a scary thought.

In Texas, the number of pro-life legislators far outnumber pro-abortion lawmakers, so his outlandish views on killing unborn children have not posed a threat to the people of Texas.

That’s not the case in the U.S. Senate.

This week, let us fast and pray for the voters of Texas that they will not be fooled as Mr. Talarico and other “wicked politicians” tickle their ears with lies. May they be convicted of the Truth of “Scripture as a whole” – we are all made in the image of God and each life is a gift. Let us also pray that the blinders be removed from Mr. Talarico’s eyes before his political ambitions put him in real danger – what shall it profit a man, if he shall become a U.S. Senator and lose his own soul?

🙏💥Call for Prayer and Fasting-For Life, Stacy Dunn, President TN Right to Life

“I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now. But when He comes, the Spirit of truth, He will guide you to all truth.”

John 16:12-13

This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday, when believers the world over commemorate the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles. Scripture tells us that on that day, 3,000 people came to believe and be baptized. The Holy Spirit is a powerful gift from the Father and the Son; a life-saving, life-changing power that we desperately need in this battle for life.

John 16 tells us that the Spirit guides us into all truth. The pro-life movement has always been based on scientific and spiritual truths about pre-born children and their mothers.

On the other hand, Scripture also tells us that Satan “was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.”

That is why the abortion movement is and always has been based on lies. And much of the world has bought into the deception.

The truth is that life begins at conception. The devil says that we don’t know when life begins.

The truth is that a baby’s heart starts to beat around 18- 21 days. Satan says that this is not a heartbeat but “electrical activity” within a clump of cells

The truth is that unborn children have arms, legs, fingers and toes. The evil one says that what is inside the womb is a “fetal pole”.

The truth is that abortion is an act of violence that kills a baby and wounds a mother. The devil says that abortion terminates a pregnancy and empowers a woman.

The truth is that children are a precious gift from God. The devil says that children are a burden and an unwanted problem.

Most “civilized” folks don’t speak of the devil. Even many believers don’t want to talk about Satan for fear that they appear uneducated or too zealous. So instead of calling out evil for what it is and the devil for who he is, we just leave him alone to continue his work. But Scripture tells us that the devil is roaming the earth trying to deceive and destroy. Pre-born children and their mothers are easy targets for his plan of destruction.

That is why we continue to fast and pray, because we know that we battle not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, authorities and spiritual forces in the heavenly realms. This spiritual battle requires the power of the Holy Spirit.

This week, please fast and pray that we will be guided by the Holy Spirit. Through the power and truth of the Spirit may we dispel the lies of the evil one and drive out the spirit of deception that consumes the abortion industry and much of the world today.

On that first Pentecost 3,000 souls were added to the number of believers. Every day, it is estimated that nearly 3,000 babies are aborted in the U.S. We have the power through the spirit to dispel the lies and save these children and their mothers. Let us pray that we will be used like the apostles to proclaim the truth so that souls may be saved and hearts will be changed as we pray, “Come Holy Spirit.”
