Today's archery lesson for the Day Program was disrupted by Mother Nature's unforeseen plans. A morning storm led to a power outage at Sherwood Forest Bowmen causing significant disappointment among the group. However, they remained engaged and appreciative of the adaptive tour and hands-on learning experience. The group demonstrated exceptional patience, understanding, and adaptability. Our “beekeeping” team successfully tended to the hives last week, achieving a remarkable outcome. Clients participated in the honey extraction process, learning about the significant time and effort required to complete the task. Notably, our first harvest saw one hive produce an impressive 59 pounds of honey. We are grateful for the generous donation and support of Heritage Honeybee. Congratulations to Ethan on his new job at Sobie's Restaurant! 🎉

CAP participants recently visited Sobie's with Jason to learn about restaurant careers and see Competitive Integrated Employment (CIE) in action. They had the opportunity to meet Ethan and his Pantheon Job Coach, observe opening tasks, and learn about workplace expectations and entry-level restaurant skills.

One of our CAP members showed some interest, stating, “I think I could fill ice bins and wipe tables and prep food! I would like to try a restaurant job”.

We're grateful to Sobie's for partnering with Pantheon to provide hands-on career exploration opportunities for both our Community Access and Vocational Development programs.
