Mazal tov to Prof. Rachel Sarig on her promotion to full professor at Tel Aviv University.

Prof. Sarig is head of the Goldschleger School of Dental Medicine at the Gray Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, where she serves as a principal investigator and leads the Dental Anthropology Laboratory.

Dr. Sarig's interdisciplinary research spans dentistry, anthropology, human evolution, and biohistory. She is also a researcher and member of the Dan David Center for Human Evolution and Biohistory Research and the Shmunis Family Anthropology Institute at Tel Aviv University.

By supporting Israel’s dental community through trauma and recovery, rebuilding the dental clinic at Kibbutz Be’eri, and serving as a safety net for Holocaust survivors in need of dental care, the Alpha Omega US Dental Foundation is providing critical support where it is needed most - helping individuals and communities heal, recover, and rebuild.

World Hepatitis Week is a reminder that hepatitis is not only a public health issue, but also an occupational health concern for dental professionals.

Dentists once faced three to four times the general population’s risk of hepatitis B because their work routinely involves blood and sharp instruments. That risk has fortunately dropped dramatically thanks to vaccination, improved training and stronger infection-control practices.
