Mazal Tov to AO Member Dr. Gail Schupak (D’83) on her appointment as Chair of Penn Dental Medicine’s Dean’s Council!

A Penn Dental Medicine alumna and orthodontist, Dr Schupak has served on the Dean’s Council since 2015, was Vice Chair since 2023, and has been a Clinical Assistant Professor at NYU College of Dentistry since 1993.

As we close out Jewish American Heritage Month, we are proud to recognize Stanley M. Bergman, Chairman Emeritus and former CEO of Henry Schein, Inc., and one of the most influential non-dentists in modern dentistry.

His decades of leadership helped shape modern oral health access, philanthropy, and public-private partnership across the dental profession. His longstanding connection to Alpha Omega, including the Alpha Omega–Henry Schein Cares Holocaust Survivors Oral Health Program, reflects a legacy of service, compassion, and lasting impact

As we continue to celebrate Jewish American Heritage Month, we are proud to honor Dr. Gerald Niznick, DMD, MSD - prosthodontist, inventor, philanthropist, and pioneer whose groundbreaking work transformed the field of dental implantology.

Widely regarded as the “Godfather of American Implant Dentistry,” Dr. Niznick’s innovations have shaped the way dentists around the world restore smiles.

His historic $7.5 million gift with his wife, Reesa Niznick, to the University of Manitoba - his alma mater, led the university to rename its dental school the Dr. Gerald Niznick College of Dentistry, a fitting tribute to a lifetime of excellence and generosity.

Today we honor, Dr. Mark S. Wolff, Morton Amsterdam Dean, 12th Dean of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, and a proud member of Alpha Omega.

Dr. Wolff's innovative spirit and unwavering leadership have transformed dental education and access to care. A prolific scholar with over 100 scientific papers and nearly $9 million in research funding, he has dedicated his career to advancing the profession, championing those who are underserved, and combating antisemitism in dentistry and beyond.

Our Jewish American Heritage Month series continues with a tribute to Dr. Ronald Goldstein. Widely regarded as the father of modern cosmetic dentistry, whose work has forever changed how the world thinks about the power of a smile. And what better time to celebrate him than during National Smile Month!

A past president of Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity and recipient of its most prestigious Achievement Medal, Dr. Goldstein's legacy spans decades of innovation, education, and philanthropy.

The Dental College of Georgia further honored his contributions by naming the Ronald Goldstein Center for Esthetic and Implant Dentistry in his honor.
