Twenty-four-year-old Juan Torres isn’t just training for a new job. He’s preparing for a climate that is already reshaping life in Spain.
As he works, head-down, wiring solar panels at Catfa Training Center in Madrid, he’s part of a transformation rippling across one of Europe’s most climate-impacted countries.

The Spanish government has invested nearly $9.2 billion in vocational education since 2020, supporting the establishment of hundreds of new training centers that can support tens of thousands of students. In the process, these centers are recalibrating the educational system, where training for green jobs has become a key strategy both for responding to climate change and building a more sustainable economy.

More than 5000 gallons of the nerve agent Dibrom , every year, is sprayed from the air in Collier County by CMCD. This doesn’t solve the problem, but kills the beneficial bugs like dragon flies that are the natural enemy of mosquitos. Aerial spraying also kills bats another natural predator and bees, which are pollinators. CMCD spends 60 million dollars of our hard earned tax money ever year to poison us and the environment.
