14 years ago the Lord Set Me Free from addiction that once had tried to take me out..
“He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.” — Psalm 40:2 (KJV) he bound up my brokenheart, and proclaimed liberty to this captive, and he opened the prison doors!
I'm grateful Lord, because even on my worst days, it's far greater than my good days using! He can SET YOU FREE TOO!

🐴 DROP THE REINS. 🐴

Sometimes the hardest thing we can do is let go.

As horse people, we understand the reins. They give us direction. They help us communicate. They give us a sense of control.

But what happens when we hold the reins so tightly that we leave no room for trust?

Sometimes God is asking us to drop the reins.

Not because He wants us to give up.
Not because He wants us to stop moving forward.
But because He wants us to trust Him enough to lead.

We spend so much of our lives trying to control the outcome—our past, our pain, our relationships, our recovery, our future.

But freedom begins when we can finally say:

“God, I can't control this anymore. I surrender it to You.”

At Set Free Equine Ministries, we believe horses can help teach us something beautiful about trust, boundaries, relationship, presence—and surrender.

A horse knows when we're pulling too hard.
A horse knows when we're afraid.
A horse responds to what we're communicating, even when we don't realize what we're saying.

And sometimes, standing beside a horse gives us the space to recognize what God has been whispering all along:

Let go.
Trust Me.
Drop the reins.
Let Me lead.

Recovery is possible.
Freedom is possible.

This month, we honor every person who has found the courage to take that first step toward recovery—and every person who continues to choose freedom, one day at a time.

Recovery isn’t about where you’ve been. It’s about where you’re going.

There is hope after addiction.
There is healing after trauma.
There is purpose beyond the pain.

At Set Free Equine Ministries, we believe God can take the broken pieces of a life and create something beautiful from them. Through faith, connection, and the powerful partnership of horses, we seek to walk alongside people as they discover healing, purpose, and freedom.

I borrow the light from my Heavenly Father which is the lamp to my feet because he is the Real Light to my path I must be sure to keep the flame lit by keeping my eyes fixed on Him and His word.🔥🙏🏻✝️
