With the Ohana Festival just around the corner, we are getting excited for three days of incredible music, community, and, of course, the inspiring storytellers who will take the stage in the Cove.

Professional snowboarder, entrepreneur, advocate, wife, and mother—Kimmy Fasani—is one of the awesome speakers in the lineup who will join us in the Cove on Saturday, September 26th, at 4:40 PM.

Listen to this episode of Candle of Thought to learn more about Kimmy before you hear her full story in person at Ohana. From becoming a trailblazer in professional snowboarding to navigating motherhood, cancer, and the many challenges life has thrown her way, Kimmy has continued to push boundaries and create opportunities for women in sport.

She has been featured on the cover of Outside magazine, and her documentary Butterfly in the Blizzard earned Sports Emmy nominations for Outstanding Long Form Documentary and Outstanding Editing. As incredible as those accomplishments are, it was Kimmy’s honesty, strength, and perspective that made this conversation so special.

In this special tribute, we will listen to some of Glen’s music, watch a montage of videos and photos shared by family and friends, and hear personal memories from fans and those who knew and loved him. We hope this tribute offers a moment of comfort, connection, and peace during this difficult time. Our hearts and deepest sympathies go out to Glen’s family, friends, and fans.

“Candle of Thought” host Chrissie Ferguson welcomes back author, Rob Janicke, for a thoughtful conversation exploring the collective grief many are experiencing following the passing of beloved musician — and friend to many — Glen Hansard.

Janicke, who has conducted extensive research and spoken with psychologists, counselors, professors, and therapists, helps us understand the psychology of impersonal grief and why it is both natural and deeply human to mourn the loss of someone we may have never met personally.

Together, Chrissie and Rob discuss ways to navigate our sadness, find comfort in shared mourning, and honor Glen’s life and legacy in the years to come.
