Lots of fun was had at Gardening Camp coordinated by OSU Extension Coos County 4-H, Ladybug Landing and the Coos Bay Public Library. Thanks are due to Ladybug Landing (South Coast Community Garden Association) and the Pottery and Co who hosted part of the event. During the week, campers gardened, prepared snacks, painted pottery, participated in team building exercises, learned more about the library and how to find books, and made new friends. 🐞🪴🪏

I would like to thank the person who asked the original question, “What is the point of youth ag?”

There is no right or wrong answer to that question. Agriculture is a journey, and every single person takes a different path along the way.

But if you have a moment, be sure to check out the rest of the magazine from PacWest Showman. It is an honor to be a sponsor, but even more importantly, it is inspiring to see the outstanding young men and women who simply try. And sometimes, trying alone is worth more than any banner or buckle because that is where learning, growth, and character begin.

So whether you hang a banner or not, you still win just by showing up and trying.
